Celebrating International Translation Day 2019

CETRA International Translation Day 2019Happy International Translation Day 2019! On September 30 each year, we say thank you to all of the talented and dedicated translators and interpreters worldwide for your hard work and dedication to the language industry. This year we are also continuing our year-long activities to recognize that 2019 is The International Year of Indigenous Languages.

We greatly appreciate the importance of translators and interpreters on this day, and we know your passion and effort are carried out on a daily basis throughout the year. We thank you for all that you do for CETRA, and your dedication to helping people globally to understand each other and the world around them.

The United Nations declared 2019 as the International Year of Indigenous Languages to help raise awareness of the cultural contributions that these languages make across our global community.

According to UNESCO, there are 7,000 languages spoken worldwide, and 2,680 languages spoken by indigenous people that are in danger. In addition, UNESCO notes there are 370 million indigenous people worldwide with 5,000 different cultures located within 90 countries.

Please join us this year in wishing translators a happy International Translation Day 2019, and recognizing the contributions that indigenous languages and cultures make to our global community.
