Special Event at CETRA: Bringing Water to Those in Need

You are invited to a special event at CETRA   “Global Water and Sanitation Crisis – Finding a Solution”  August 16, 2011 | 12:00-2:00 Lunch will be provided

CETRA supports the Philadelphia Global Water Initiative (PGWI) and in particular its projects in Cameroon, such as spring-based water systems, sanitation for schools and other projects that bring water to those in need.
 
We are thrilled that Professor Stanley Laskowski has agreed to give his presentation to the CETRA community on August 16, 2011. Stan will be accompanied by several members of the PGWI board of directors: Greg Kelder, Dr. Godlove Fonjweng, Anastasia Shown and Vince Uhl. The event will include a slide show and photos from Cameroon by Engineers without Borders.
 
Mr. Laskowski has been a senior executive, leader, teacher, scientist, advisor, and mentor during his career in environmental protection.  Currently he is a lecturer/advisor at the University of Pennsylvania (PENN).  His areas of special interest include issues related to the attainment of the UN Millennium Development Goals for water and sanitation, US and global environmental management and policy, environmental regulation, and making PENN’s campus more sustainable. In 2006, Mr. Laskowski, with other environmental leaders, founded the Philadelphia Global Water Initiative (www.pgwi.org), a regional network of organizations dedicated to helping to provide water and sanitation services in the developing world through projects, education and research. He was also instrumental in establishing the Initiative for Global Environmental Leadership at Wharton/PENN and remains active in its efforts regarding business and the environment. In 2009 he received the LPS Distinguished Teaching Award for Non-Standing Faculty. Mr. Laskowski is a former Senior Executive at the US Environmental Protection Agency where he served for over 31 years including 15 years as the Deputy Regional Administrator for the Middle-Atlantic States for which he was awarded the Presidential Distinguished Executive Award.
