CETRA Movie Night: The Cuckoo

Join us Tuesday, September 10 at our headquarters in Elkins Park for a free showing of The Cuckoo.  The movie begins at 6:30pm after networking with drinks and refreshments. The Cuckoo, a Russian film directed by Aleksandr Rogozhkin, takes place in 1944 in a land torn apart by World War II.   A Finnish sniper, who has been punished by his compatriots and chained to a rock is left to his own devices when he comes across a disgraced Russian Captain who was injured in an accident.  The two men have nothing in common except for Anni, the young, resourceful war widow who offers the men shelter.  None of the three unlikely roommates understand each others’ languages, but they overcome comic and tragic misunderstandings to form a meaningful bond.
